Rosmarinus Rouge 2015
Rosmarinus Rouge 2015 is crafted by Leon Calage, Marc Portal and Bernard Resseguier at the Domaine Calage Resseguieris wine estate. Located in the heart of the Garrigue, the Domaine Calage Resseguier estate includes a 12 hectare vineyard on two distinct terroirs and allows the production of wines of the Grés appellation of Montpellier. Calage Resseguier produces original and complex wines so much appreciated that they are served at the Elysee – in fact the only wines from the Languedoc region that are in the hidden wine cellars of the government of the Republic of France.

Weather conditions: The Languedoc Roussillon French region, located in the south of France is renowned for its dry and warm climate throughout the year especially for its mild winters and really hot summers. Languedoc Roussillon is lined along its southern side by the Mediterranean Sea. This is the reason why Languedoc region soaks in sweetness and warmth all year long. On average there are 2,506 sunshine hours a year. The region is a dry region of France, rainfalls are rare but can be really violent.
Wine making / Ageing: All grapes are manually harvested with a manual first press. Rosmarinus Rouge 2015 is aged for a minimum of 2 years in French oak barrels, adding a qualities associated with this uniquely respected Domaine. This wine is suitable for ageing and would age for up to 10 years in the right environment.
Tasting: THIS WINE MUST BE DECANTED for at least 90 minutes (2 hours if time permits) to allow Rosmarinus Rouge 2015 to develop it’s powerful and floral nose. There are hints of red fruit and roasting. The palate is round and long, the tannins present are fine.
Food Pairing: Rosmarinus Rouge 2015 is a gastronomers perfect bottle. Rich and hearty food. Braised or roasted red meats or game. Specifically for food pairing with Chinese cuisine, most lamb dishes, cumin based flavours, Chinese barbecue and peking duck.
