Settesoli Grillo
Settesoli Grillo is a white wine crafted in Sicily, Italy where grillo is abundant due to the perfect growing conditions for this grape type. During the past 40 years Settesoli has promoted and spread the winemaking culture throughout the entire region of Sicily, creating a real wine district and employing, directly or indirectly, over the 70% of the 5’000 families residing nearby. This scale of involvement in the local community is unique and holds even greater importance considering that Settesoli works in complete harmony with the environment.

Grape Type: 100% Grillo
ABV: 13%
Soil: Mineral-rich, dark soils with volcanic residues from Mount Etna
Weather conditions: Sicily’s Mediterranean location places it directly in the middle of the Mediterranean climate zone, which only covers two percent of the Earth’s surface and is also called the dry summer subtropical climate. The Mediterranean climate is characterised by moderate temperatures. 500-600mm average rain fall per year with more than half of this in the three months of October, November and December.

Tasting: Grillo is a classic Italian grape and is more commonly used to craft Marsala wine. While the expectation is for a sweet white wine, Settesoli Grillo is off dry. Expect a fresh, light white wine with nutty, fruit-driven flavours that include lemon and apple
Food Pairing: Lighter and more refreshing meals suit this wine perfectly. Cantonese meals, salads, grilled vegetables, shellfish and delicately flavoured fish.
