The Bpuntio range includes 5 different wines that are produced in Emilia Romagna, Sicily and Apulian. All of the wines are certified according to the Reg. UE 834/2007 and 203/2012 by CCPB and also obtained the organic certification for the Chinese market. This Bpuntio Catarratto Chardonnay comes from Sicily.
Frankly, the vast majority of Organic wines are dire. It makes no sense why something as wholesome as gaining organic status almost always results in quality and consistency issues. We’re pleased to say that this is a wine that starts to buck that trend by offering really good quality at a great price.
Region: Puglia
Grape Type: Primitivo
ABV: 13.5%
Soil: 100% Organic Soils.
Weather conditions: Moderate Mediterranean climate with slightly cooler days due to inland hillside vineyards.
Winemaking / Ageing: After destemming, the Primitivo are not pressed but they are left intact to optimise the extraction of the colours before an eventual pressing some days later.
During the early days of fermentation, the grapes are repeatedly racked and returned to bring out their aroma and tannins.
Tasting: Organic Primitivo is intense red in colour. There is a complex bouquet, reminiscent of cherries, raisins and toasted almonds. Full-bodied on the palate but at the same time, it’s still mild and elegant. A lasting and pleasant aftertaste
Food Pairing: Pasta with rich tomato sauces, aged cheeses and game meats.
For Chinese cuisine consider anything rich in meats and starches. It will pair with medium spiced foods, but avoid extreme uses of chilli.
