Somerdale
Somerdale was founded in 1990 by directors Stephen Jones and Ernie Waldron. From small beginnings in a Taunton townhouse, Somerdale has grown to have a turnover in excess of £32 million of which approximately 95% is from export.
Today, Somerdale operates from expansive offices and cold storage facilities situated close to the arterial M5 motorway, just outside the Somerset town of Wellington. Somerdale now exports over 250 cheeses to wholesale, distribution, retail and food-service customers all over the World.
Not only do they offer the very best British cheese, but also provide extensive knowledge of how to market and sell the best of British.
Through extensive industry experience and working with the best speciality cheese retailers and food industry professionals across the world, they are well placed to use that knowledge to promote British brands.
Somerdale have partnered with, and represent, some of the finest cheese producers in Great Britain and Ireland. These include Barber’s, Joseph Heler, Quickes, Singletons, Cropwell Bishop and Cahill’s Farm, to name but a few. This allows us to offer an unparalleled variety of products under our own brands such as Westminster Cheddar, as well as the familiar names associated with each individual producer.
They have received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in both 2009 and 2016.
