Tasting Notes
Somerdale Il Truffelino is a premium cheese combining the creamy texture of classic English cheddar with the complex and luxuriant flavour of Black Summer Truffle.
Fabulous on its own with crusty bread or crackers. Transform a Ploughman’s. Truffle up your favourite recipes. This delightful truffled cheese is perfect for your dinner party or to give as a hostess gift. Its 400g size packs a punch: the creamy texture of Cheddar combined with the complex and elegant taste of black Italian truffles will make your mouth water.
It melts like a dream and tastes like truffle butter. Melt onto baked or mashed potatoes, add to macaroni and cheese, or make a luxurious grilled cheese sandwich. A basic cheese soufflé made with Il Truffelino transforms a simple dish into something truly memorable. Or try it rolled in pancetta with sprigs of thyme.
Il Truffelino is suitable for vegetarians and does not contain Gluten.
Wine Pairing
Any dry white wines work well with this cheese including sparkling wines such as prosecco. We also think that this cheese is a good pairing for either a sweeter-styled single malt or a smokey or peaty Islay.

How truffles taste ~ no idea as I have never tasted truffles unless as an ingredient into a dish / on a steak.
.. also a kind of dryness.. no creamy taste.. but a special taste which you like or not (probably the truffle taste)..also you smell this when opening the package.
For me ~ ~ it is OK but never reach my top list
I enjoyed it on a toasted corn bread.
Not bad

… in the world.. you often get surprised, this is also the case in the world of cheese.
This lumb of Cheddar Truffelino will firstly surprise you when opening the package paper. I will not revile it here, experience it yourself and be surprised.
The cheese itself is a sublime result of perfection into the world of taste experience.
How in earth you can avoid to get hook on this for life, is as riddle which can not be solved.
Enjoy it fully… as I did.
